Reigning IMSA champion Britt Casey Jr. and Mikey Taylor look to put on a good performance at home for team title sponsor Unitronic, as the duo build off their solid 2nd place finish at Sebring in March. Starting off with a bang, the team took pole position in their first ever event with Casey pacing the field by more than a second. Leading over 60% of the race, the team were looking to make history with a win in their maiden event, but coming up just short with a close second place finish behind the LAP Motorsport Honda of Shelby Blackstock and Tom O’Gorman.

Sticking to the originally announced four race schedule for the new TCR entry, the #17 missed the Mid-Ohio Sportscar Course and Watkins Glen International rounds, and are eager to get back on track during the promoter test day on July 4th at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park. “Really excited to get back in the #17 at CTMP with the JDC-Miller crew. It’s been a long couple months off for the guys and this is one of my favorite events throughout the year. I have a lot of family coming out and we would love to get on the podium in front of the hometown crowd from my partners at Unitronic and Out There Brands. We also have some great local events happening with the Racing To End Alzheimer’s Gala on Friday night with FEL, and the official race after-party on Saturday night at the Thompson Rooftop organized by my good friend James Vance, so it should be a weekend to remember!” said Taylor. Taylor who competed in the #54 JDC Miller entry last weekend at Watkins Glen International with teammates Michael Johnson and Stephen Simpson, will be looking to rebound after leading several laps during the race until being taken out of the race with a tire failure.

Casey hasn’t been completely absent from IMSA events, while not being in a race car he regularly gets up in the commentary booth with IMSA Radio to call the races. “I’m extremely excited to be back with the JDC-Miller Motorsports team at Canadian Tire Motorsports Park for Unitronic’s home race. With last year’s winning success at this event, both the team and myself are looking to repeat the same result this year. We will also be representing a new partner, Autobahn Country Club, which will be with us the rest of the season. Autobahn is a track that I grew up at and owe a lot to for jump starting my career. Bringing their brand into IMSA is something I have been looking forward to for a long time and we all are very eager to get on track starting July 4th!” said Casey.
