Unitronic JDC-Miller Head to Ohio with Rejuvenated Determination and New Partnership

After what was the ideal start to the year with a victory in the opening round at Daytona International Speedway, the team of Unitronic JDC-Miller MotorSports looks to rebound after a rocky second round at Sebring International Raceway where the team suffered a mechanical failure while leading the race.

After almost two months to go through and analyze the issues that caused their defeat at Sebring in March, The Audi TCR duo of Mikey Taylor and Chris Miller head to Mid-Ohio with a rejuvenated determination to take the fight to their competition and regain their position at the top step of the podium and championship. “Sebring was a tough pill to swallow for us, we were comfortable controlling the race out front, saving tires and fuel. I knew I should think about it but I thought to myself, wow we are going to go back to back here for wins and get a great start to the year, and unfortunately disaster struck. But that is racing and that is what makes the wins so special.” Said the upbeat South African born Mikey Taylor.

Having taken the time to go over the setup and mechanical factors that led to their demise. The team along with the initiative of co-driver Chris Miller, took the opportunity to prepare for the upcoming race by doing a 2-day test at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course which helped them further understand the intricacies of the new for 2021 Audi TCR Sequential platform. “When we put together the program we knew we may not be able to do the Daytona Roar test or any other testing before the season. The team did an amazing job to still give us a race winning car for Daytona but Sebring showed that we still had some things to learn. It was nice to test at Mid-Ohio and we had a very productive first day. Unfortunately it snowed fairly heavily overnight and into the second day so the test was cut short. I’m hopeful we’ll have a bit warmer weather next week and a return to the top step of the podium!”
