After what turned into a fairytale start to their championship campaign the #17 Unitronic JDC-Miller MotorSport team carries their positive momentum into the second round of the IMSA Michelin Pilot Championship in Sebring, FL for the Alan Jay Automotive Network 120.
Sebring is not only where Unitronic’s debut in IMSA racing as car owners happened, but also the site of their first IMSA podium finish in 2019 with Mikey Taylor and Britt Casey Jr., finishing second in the TCR class. Sebring also brings a return to two-hour races compared to the four-hour endurance challenge the team faced at Daytona and will again face later in the year at Watkins Glen. This means a debut for the full-season driver pairing of Chris Miller and Mikey Taylor.

Taylor having finished on the podium at Sebring in 2019 has high hopes for the team., “After our fantastic finish at Daytona I feel like we’re just getting started. Daytona presented us a lot of challenges with the new SEQ drivetrain along with some other teething issues, but now we’ve had the time to review and make the necessary changes and I expect us to be even stronger off the bat at Sebring.”

Miller who has been a regular in the DPI and prototype ranks for the famed Sebring 12 Hour knows this track like the back of his hand and will be looking to put in another strong performance to qualify and start the 120-minute race, “It’s great to be leading the points and to have started the season with a win but I know we will have to up our game even more at Sebring. The whole Unitronic JDC-Miller MotorSports team has been working hard since Daytona so I’m confident we can get another strong result. On a personal note, I have finished fourth at the 12 Hours of Sebring four different times so I would love to get on the podium. Sebring is always a special place to go and I can’t wait to get on track!”

As planned, endurance event (Daytona and Watkins Glen) team partner Centinel Spine will be replaced by Audi Sport customer racing branding on the #17 for all the 2-hour length races. Audi Sport customer racing, who manufacture and sell the RS 3 LMS TCR that is currently being used by the team, recently announced the launch of a successor to the current Audi TCR offering to debut in 2022.
