Unitronic®'s 3” Downpipe for the 1.4TSI EA211 engines is a direct bolt-on upgrade that eliminates unwanted restrictions in the factory downpipe, providing gains of +41 HP and +70 LB-FT of torque over stock, when combined with Unitronic Stage 2 Performance Software for the ECU. Unitronic’s Performance Software for the 1.4TSI EA211 is compatible with UniCONNECT+, empowering Clients to tune it themselves directly via the OBD-2 port within minutes, from the comfort of their own home or garage.
As is with all of its performance products, Unitronic utilizes only the latest industry leading tools, equipment, and computer aided design software that is packed with the latest technology from our technology partners at Creaform® and Stratasys®. These tools and technology help to achieve a design that optimizes exhaust gasses to minimize turbine backpressure, allowing for a significant increase in performance.
Unitronic began with 3D scanning the 1.4TSI engine bay and OEM components with it’s in-house 3D scanner. Once 3D scan data has been collected and processed, Unitronic’s Hardware Engineers then interact with the 3D models to identify fitment constraints, mounting locations, other component locations, etc. to ensure the final product fits perfectly within the “envelope”.
Once initial designs are finalized, the next step is the rapid prototyping phase, utilizing its in-house Stratasys 3D printer. Within hours, Unitronic Engineers are able to have a complete working 3D printed rapid prototype, allowing for test fitments to be performed on the vehicle.
Unitronic’s 3” Downpipe features the highest quality materials and craftsmanship, and is backed with an industry-leading limited lifetime warranty. Constructed of T304 stainless steel tubing, T316 stainless steel flanges, TIG welded construction, and featuring a unique v-band fastening system, Unitronic’s Downpipe for the 1.4TSI is built to outlast the life of the vehicle. Exhaust gasses continue through a high-flow metallic matrix catalyst and uses an heat shield to reduce radiant heat dispersing through the engine bay. Finishing it off, the included 76.2mm to 55mm reducer allows for a direct bolt-on fitment with the factory cat-back exhaust.
Once fitments are confirmed, and a working production prototype is completed, Unitronic’s Engine Calibrators use its in-house MAHA LPS3000 Chassis Dyno to collect and analyze pertinent data and adjust the engine control unit parameters to achieve optimal performance. Research and development of Unitronic’s Performance Software continues with further dyno and track testing, while closely monitoring running conditions through live high-speed data logging tools, and further optimizations are made to ensure maximum performance is achieved while maintaining complete OEM-like reliability and drivability; increasing throttle response, and improving overall fuel efficiency.
Unitronic’s Stage 2 Performance Software combined with its 3” Downpipe produces 196 HP / 257 LB-FT.

UniConnect+ is Unitronic's End-User Programming and Diagnostic Interface, which gives its Clients the freedom to flash their Engine Control Unit (ECU) from the comfort of their home or garage. It is no longer necessary to schedule an appointment at an Authorized Unitronic Dealer to have your performance software installed, removed, upgraded or reflashed. UniConnect+ empowers its Unitronic Performance Software Clients with the freedom to tune their vehicle at their will.
