Unitronic is pleased to present its Performance Software for the B8 & B8.5 A4®/A5® & Q5® 2.0 TSI Valvelift (AVS) platforms. Unitronic precisely recalibrated the Bosch® MED17 engine control unit (ECU) for maximum performance, reliability, and drivability.
All of Unitronic's calibrations begin by assessing the engines' performance in stock format using both its in-house Dynapack 5032 Chassis Dyno. With baseline figures and data collected, Unitronic interprets the data and adjusts the engine control parameters; increasing boost pressure, optimizing ignition timing, lambda, and more. With further dyno and track testing, Unitronic closely monitors running conditions through live high-speed data logging tools, and further adjustments are made on-the-fly to ensure maximum performance is achieved and optimized, while maintaining complete OEM-like reliability and drivability; increasing throttle response, and improving overall fuel efficiency*. With its significant increase in performance, Unitronic's Performance Software retains all ECU safety control; no corners are cut.
Unitronic's Stage 1 Performance Software is optimized for use with a minimum of 91 octane / 95 RON fuel, producing 245 horsepower (HP) and 300 lb-ft of torque (TQ) running 20 PSI of boost. For those with access to 93 octane / 98 RON, Unitronic's Stage 1+ Performance Software can be used, increasing performance by an additional 10 HP and 15 lb-ft TQ (255 HP/315 lb-ft TQ) through an increase in ignition timing using the higher grade fuel and a rise in boost to 22 PSI. Both Stage 1 and Stage 1+ Performance Software are designed for a completely stock vehicle, requiring no supporting modifications.
Unitronic's Stage 2 Performance Software is optimized for use with its B8/B8.5 A5/A5 & Q5 2.0 TSI AVS 3” Downpipe, exploiting the benefits of an elimination of the restrictive OEM catalytic converter allowing for a more free flow of exhaust gasses. Using the minimum required 93 octane / 98 RON, power is at 265 HP / 330 lb-ft TQ.
For maximum performance out of your B8/B8.5 A4, A5 or Q5 2.0 TSI AVS, Unitronic recommends its Stage 2 Performance Software, 3” Downpipe, and Front Mount Intercooler Upgrade.
The B8/B8.5 A4/A5 & Q5 2.0 TSI platforms feature UniConnect compatibility, providing our Clients with the freedom to reflash their ECU from the comfort of their own home or garage! Once the MED17 ECU is initially flashed at any Authorized Unitronic Dealer, the ECU is unlocked enabling full OBD-2 port reflash capabilities. UniConnect is only an additional $99 with a new Performance Software purchased and provides an effortless way to upgrade Performance Software yourself.
*Generally, Unitronic Performance Software clients see a 5-8% increase in fuel efficiency, under the same driving conditions. Unitronic makes no guarantees on fuel efficiency improvements, as these figures are highly variable and dependent upon driving style and conditions.
