Alton, VA — After a challenging weekend at Road America three weeks ago, the Unitronic JDC-Miller Motorsports team is looking for redemption as the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge heads to Virginia International Raceway this weekend for the eighth round of the 2026 championship.
Looking for Redemption
The No. 17 Unitronic Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport showed strong pace at Road America, but getting to the starting grid was an achievement in itself. Drivetrain issues forced the team into an overnight transmission swap trackside, with the crew working through the night to get the Porsche ready to qualify and race.
Strong Pace, Tough Finish
Their efforts paid off as the No. 17 Porsche made the start and immediately showed the pace to fight through the field. Chris Miller and Mikey Taylor battled their way forward throughout the race, putting the car in position for a potential top-five finish before late-race contact knocked them out of contention, ultimately resulting in a 15th-place finish.
Despite the disappointing result, the performance at Road America demonstrated the pace and resilience of the team, setting the stage for another opportunity to fight for a strong finish at VIR.
Back on the Attack
Virginia International Raceway's technical layout and flowing high-speed corners will put both car and drivers to the test. With three rounds remaining in the 2026 championship, Miller and Taylor will once again pilot the No. 17 Porsche with their sights set on turning the team's pace into the result it has been fighting for.
