Transformative Power Gains
Thanks to extensive development and a strict tuning strategy which retains factory safety limiters, Unitronic Software Engineers optimized the MG1CS031 ECU to improve boost control, ignition timing, lambda, camshaft timing and other critical parameters. With supporting hardware upgrades, the result is a significant power increase to 298 HP and 324 LB-FT with Stage 2 93 octane Performance Software.
Refined Drive With Unitronic TCU Software
To support this drastic increase in horsepower and torque, Unitronic strongly recommends its TCU Performance Software which was developed to improve the overall driving experience through calibration adjustments including an increased torque limiter, advanced torque management, adjustable launch control, optimized gear shift points, quicker shifts, and in-dash gear display enablement.
For users with vehicles built after 02/2022 that have locked "401" bootloaders, Unitronic's TCU Bench Harness can be utilized in order to quickly unlock and tune DQ381.2 transmissions via the UniCONNECT+ / UniPRO+ flashing suite.

This release supports the DNV (DNVA/DNVB) engine variants in North America from MY2022-2024 (40 TFSI), as well as the DNN (DNNA/DNND) engine variants in the rest of the world from MY2021-2024.
Unitronic’s ECU calibrations are engineered to improve engine response and reduce low-end lag. Unitronic’s Performance Software has gained worldwide recognition and is well known for its broad powerband, with smooth power delivery, maximizing responsiveness and “area under the curve”, under normal and hard acceleration. Engine calibration optimized to take advantage of higher fuel quality to extract maximum combustion energy. Therefore, when using a higher octane fuel, more power and better fuel efficiency will be achieved. Unitronic’s ECU Calibrators deliver the maximum power output while staying within the operational limits of the factory engine and drivetrain components. Specifically, this results in the highest engine performance without sacrificing the reliability of the engine, turbocharger, or other engine and drivetrain components. OEM “fail safes” are retained within the ECU calibration. Close monitoring of all operation parameters ensures that engine operation stays within factory components limits, resulting in reliability. Aligned with the OEM strategy, the calibration is designed to offer a large flat torque plateau to provide a smooth and linear power band. Maximum torque output is achieved sooner and maintained longer which creates a broader torque plateau and greater area under the curve. This results in an improved acceleration and optimal engine operation. Vehicle speed limiter within ECU is removed. (Subject to transmission rotational speed limit.) Optimized timing and injection in cruising condition allows for an improved fuel efficiency, under normalized driving conditions. With over 20 years of experience with Bosch and Siemens engine management systems and calibrations, Unitronic is able to utilize its expertise, industry leading tools and equipment to ensure an optimal calibration; delivering maximum performance, while maintaining complete OEM-like reliability and drivability. Development begins using Unitronic’s in-house Maha Chassis dyno housed in an environmentally controlled cell; closely monitoring a plethora of operational data, utilizing industry leading calibration tools and resources. Beta calibrations are then tested in street and track scenarios, using multiple cars under various driving conditions. This engine calibration strategy ensures Unitronic Performance Software delivers maximum performance, OEM-like drivability and reliability anywhere in the world. For best results in achieving a 48-hour turn-around, you must select FedEx Priority Express at checkout. Make sure you drop the package off at a trustworthy manned FedEx Drop Off Point. Commercial Invoice(s) must be secured in an international waybill pouch on the outside of the package, together with any label(s) provided. Failure to include all the necessary labels and/or commercial invoices could result in delays in transit. Unitronic can not be responsible for delays while in transit, with customs, or delays as a result of improper packaging on inbound or outbound shipments. Unitronic strongly recommends using a plain cardboard box that is 10"x10"x4" (25cm x 25cm x 10cm) without any other markings or labels. Boxes larger than the recommended size could incur additional costs or result in delays while in transit. Boxes with other markings or labels could result in delays, rejection, return, seizure, and/or destruction of your package. If you choose to include an AirTag or other tracking device, please ensure the tracker is secure to the ECU itself to make sure it doesn't get lost and/or not returned back to you.
